Since Catrina Moretz Photography became official, I have shared with more than one person, "I want to do a cake smash session!" I have always seen the cutest photos of kids tearing into cakes - icing wedged between each finger, shoving the sweet sugary goodness into their mouths without a care in the world. There's just something about capturing a little one in a poofy dress with globs of icing rolling down her dress. It doesn't get any cuter than this.

My best thing about photographing kids is letting them...well...be kids! Children's portraits should capture their personality - their curiosity and wonder as they discover the world around them. It is a delicate balance. I want to compose a great shot for my clients and in the same breath, make space for those candid moments. When those two things collide, that is when photography magic happens ✨
Wildflowers are unique, colorful, and resilient - they bloom where they are planted. They are found in unlikely places - they are free. This boho wildflower theme was perfect for Elli's session and matched her bubbly personality. As this little wildflower continues to grow, my hope is that these images foreshadow her life's journey - beautiful, colorful, and uniquely hers. Bloom, little wildflower, bloom!
